3. Personal data we may collect
Depending on how you interact with SMAM, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identification and professional information, such as first name, last name, company, job title and business contact details.
- Information you submit through forms, including your current capital or strategic priority, expected timing, telephone number where voluntarily provided, and any request for SMAM to contact you.

4. Why we process personal data
We may process personal data for the following purposes:
- To operate, secure and maintain the SMAM website.
- To provide content or publications that you request, including the Capital Strategy Across the Growth Curve playbook.
- To respond to enquiries and assess whether SMAM can assist with a strategic, capital, financing or international structuring matter.
- To manage prospective and existing professional relationships.

5. Legal grounds where the GDPR applies
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, SMAM relies on one or more lawful grounds depending on the context, including steps taken at your request before entering into a professional engagement, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business and website, and consent where required, including for optional marketing communications.
6. Marketing communications
SMAM does not treat access to a publication as consent to receive marketing. If you choose to receive occasional SMAM insights or communications, that choice is recorded separately. You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication or by contacting us at contact@smam.ch.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for security, administration, caching or core website functionality. SMAM does not currently intentionally deploy advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural tracking on smam.ch. Further information is available in our Cookie Policy.
8. Recipients and service providers
SMAM may share personal data with service providers and professional advisers where necessary for the purposes described above. Categories of recipients may include website hosting and infrastructure providers, email and communications providers, IT and cybersecurity providers, font-delivery and website technology providers, professional advisers, and other service providers acting on SMAM’s instructions. The current website loads certain typography resources through Google Fonts, which may result in technical connection data such as an IP address being transmitted to the relevant provider when the resource is requested. Personal data is not sold to advertisers.
9. International data transfers
SMAM operates internationally, including between Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. Personal data may therefore be processed or accessed in jurisdictions outside the country in which you are located. Where required, SMAM uses appropriate contractual, organisational or other safeguards for international transfers and provides the information required under applicable law.
10. Data retention
SMAM retains personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, for the duration of a professional relationship where applicable, and thereafter for any period required or justified by legal, regulatory, accounting, security or legitimate record-keeping needs. Marketing preference records may be retained to ensure that an opt-out continues to be respected.
11. Data security
SMAM applies appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, disclosure or misuse. No internet transmission or storage environment can, however, be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Your rights
Subject to applicable law and any statutory limitations, you may have rights to request information about personal data processed about you, obtain access to it, request correction or deletion, object to certain processing, request restriction or portability where applicable, and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Requests may be sent to contact@smam.ch. You may also have the right to contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or another competent supervisory authority.
13. Third-party websites
The SMAM website may contain links to third-party websites or platforms, including LinkedIn. Those services process data under their own privacy terms. SMAM is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, website configuration, legal requirements or processing activities. The date at the top of the Policy indicates the latest revision.
